As part of an integrated service, Advantage increasingly provides advice on safety, software safety, environmental and human factors issues. Advantage works closely with established specialist partners to provide domain-relevant environmental and human factors input. This both allows a more efficient and effective solution, and facilitates a consistent approach to risk management within a single management framework.

Advantage also offers a range of services to assist and advise purchasers and developers of high integrity software. Our capability covers the production and assessment of software across the entire development lifecycle from requirement capture through to acceptance testing. Our deep knowledge and capability in this demanding area is illustrated by our in-house developed Software Validation Tool, MALPAS.

'An Introduction to System Safety Management and Assurance'  aka 'The White Book' was written by Advantage under contract to the MoD.  The White book aims to allow MoD and Contractors to understand quickly the System Safety Management concepts, terms and activities.  Its companion title, 'An Introduction to Environmental Management in the MOD Acquisition Process' aka 'The Green Book' was written by our environmental partners Enviros Consulting Ltd.  The Green Book aims to allow MoD and Contractors to appreciate the main environmental issues and essential methodologies to control, minimise and mitigate environmental impacts through a projects life cycle.

Advantage with Human Engineering Ltd developed a good practice model for the application of human factors to system design. ‘The Human Factors Integration in SMART Acquisition’ is a series of web pages to provide comprehensive guidance at all stages of the acquisition process.
