The basis is a structured assessment of the areas in which assurance is required and, crucially, determination of the level of assurance required. There is inevitably a trade-off between confidence and cost, which needs to be optimised so that sufficient but not excessive assurance is achieved. Where appropriate, assurance levels are captured in a formal framework allowing a rigorous justification of the costs of assurance.
The strength of Advantage’s offer is that it embraces all relevant assurance concerns within a single methodological framework, resulting in a comprehensive yet efficient approach to handling project risks and audit requirements. Advantage has experts in project delivery, IT and telecoms system design, security, safety, software and PFI/PPP contracts. Our assurance methods include in-house tools for reliability and availability modelling and system load modelling. Advantage also uses and supports MALPAS, a unique tool-set for use in formal software verification. |
